In a press statement released by Kogi state government on Saturday, October 8, 2022, Kogi state have have uncovered a plot Dangote to Cause Chaos in Kogi state.

PLOT BY DANGOTE TO CAUSE CHAOS IN KOGI UNCOVERED

1. We have uncovered certain plans by the Dangote Group at a meeting held last night to cause chaos across the state as a fight back strategy against the State Government’s decision to get its own legally supported equity from the Obajana Cement Company. The latest strategy stems from frustrations occasioned by the failure of the Dangote Group to misinform the general public and its shareholders as the State Government has consistently and continuously present the facts of the matter to the general public.

2. A top Management Staff of Dangote Group erroneously called a top Government official as the meeting was going on to hatch their satanic plans against the Government and people of Kogi State. The call which came in at 10.06pm went on for 28 minutes, 12 seconds, detailing how they intend to doctor documents to prove they own the cement company 100 percent; how they intend to use the DSS and other security agencies to arrest top Government Officials on frivolous charges; how they intend to use the EFCC to arrest some Government officials in order to cow them down; how they also intend to use the media to promote falsehood against the Government and people of Kogi State and sundry other satanic plans against the people and Government of our dear state.

Below are the resolutions at their meeting:

* Obliteration of the Agreement between the Kogi State Government and the Dangote Group.

* A plan to use the press to attack the Governor and the Government of Kogi State. They planned to deploy people to the major TV Stations in the country to attack the Governor and the Government of Kogi State.

*They planned to call the EFCC and DSS today to claim those who sealed the company on the orders of the House of Assembly stole the sum of N207m and that those agencies should arrest them.

*They also resolved to initiate both civil and criminal proceedings against certain Government officials.

*Lastly, they resolved to block all the major highways across the state with their trucks to make it impossible for the Governor to move out of the state capital. In their words, they said “we will prove to him that his madness cannot match our own”. They said at the meeting that Dangote owns Nigeria and that there is nothing anyone can do to stop him.

3. The over 28 minutes recorded meeting typifies the mindset of economic oppressor who thinks he could use every apparatus of the Federal Government to fight our dear state into submission. Nigeria is what it is today because certain individuals think they own the country and can get away with any atrocity they commit.

4. We make bold to say that if the Dangote Group attempts to carry out any of his threats or deny our claims above which are supported by facts, we will release visuals and audio of the said meeting and the whole world will see the mindset and modus operandi of Alh. Aliko Dangote and his conglomerate. We are a people that cannot be destroyed by the whim and caprices of the capitalist dominance that the Dangote Group stands for.

5. One of the plans hatched at the meeting was to use Dangote trucks to block all major highways in Kogi State from today to make life unbearable for the people of the state and also launch attacks on commuters across the state in order to cow the State Government into submission in the ongoing ownership determination battle for the Obajana Cement Company.

6. We wish to inform the people of Kogi State that the State Government will stop at nothing legal to defend their rights to movement and safety. We will take steps that are legal to resist the act of cowardice of the Dangote Group to harass, intimidate or harm the people of Kogi State for demanding their rights.

7. Let it be clear to all that the Government and people of Kogi State are united against economic oppression under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello. Our resolve to right the wrongs of the past is bigger than those who think they own Nigeria and can get away with anything they do.

8. We call on security agencies to be on red alert to forestall any breakdown of law and order. It is our wish to ensure the agitation to reclaim our equity at Obajana is non-violent as we have all that is required to win the battle. Security agencies should resist the temptation of being used by the Dangote Group to be used to harass officials of Government and our people as hatched at the I’ll fated meeting.

9. We also want to sound a note of warning to the Dangote Group that Kogi State will not condone any act of lawlessness and that perpetrators will be made to face the full wrath of the law, no matter how highly placed.

9. Let it be clear to all that the present administration has overseen the heaviest influx of investments into the state as a result of the enabling environment created. But in as much as we crave investments and economic expansion in our dear state, it is our responsibility to protect the interest of the people in those investments.

10. Our stand is just and fair. Our decision is to give what belongs to the people to the people and not seek pecuniary interest. That is why Dangote Group is being repeatedly exposed. The Group should do what is right and just to stop further drowning in the murky waters of ignominy.

11. We urge the people of Kogi State to remain calm as the Government they elected is capable, ready and equipped to fight this economic battle successfully.

Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications

How To Start a Business In Nigeria When You Are Broke And Financially Down https://kogistatehub.com/start-a-business-in-nigeria/2022/economy/ Sat, 08 Oct 2022 05:31:19 +0000 https://kogistatehub.com/?p=4308 To start a good business in Nigeria requires some amount of capital, and when you’re broke, starting a meaningful business

To start a good business in Nigeria requires some amount of capital, and when you’re broke, starting a meaningful business could be difficult.

These are some tips on how you can start a small business when you are broke.

A lot of people make this mistake so I thought to teach about it.

If you do not have a lot of capital or skill and you want to start a business to make some money to survive, you must first build a list of things that you should NOT consider.

Things to consider before starting a business in Nigeria. when your capital is less than 20k, 50k, 100k

  1. No buying and selling (everyone is doing buying and selling, they do not know it is business for the rich. Only a rich man should tie down money.)
  2. No business that has small margins (no one-one kobo business)
  3. No tying down money on inventory (not enough money to buy goods and be looking at the goods)
  4. No focusing on selling to only family and friends (forget them from day one)
  5. No multi-level marketing (No time to bring two people. lol)
  6. No production of any kind (No time to fry Chips with a hope of making 10 Naira profit)
  7. No non-essentials (sell what people need everyday not shoe and bag)
  8. No non-consumables (sell only what the customers keep coming back frequently because it has finished)

Again, there is nothing wrong with the things listed in 1 to 8 above; but you cannot start a business in Nigeria without putting the right things into consideration. You only take big financial risk when you have more trading capital.

How to migrate to Canada on small budget

So, what would I do if I had only 50k to start a business and survive on it?

There are some businesses in Nigeria which you can venture into even if your capital is very low.

Cheapest business to start in Nigeria

  • Service-based business like braid someone’s hair and make 5k
  • Act as a middle man and sell items that other people own. Example – Take pictures of nice parlour decorations from a major interior deco importer, and sell at a margin
  • Sell a single type of cooked food in massive quantity. Example – Only beans or only sweet jollof rice or only moimoi or only Indomie

Listen please – If you do not have a lot of capital, you do not just jump into any business like the rest. You need to give yourself time to think.

Factors to consider in setting up a business in Nigeria

Think about what?

  • Think about the profit
  • Think about the speed at which that thing sells
  • Think about the speed at which you will leave poverty
  • Think about the speed at which a customer will come back to buy again
  • Think about the speed at which my money will turn over

After several hours, the officials finally find a way out by trekking about 4 kilometres from the barricated road to the plant.

The operation to shut down the plant was successful because the youths at obajana and some of the staffs  joined in the operation as they complained of being neglected by the company.

The state government insisted that the company started as Kogi Cement Company, and at what point was it change to Dangote Cement Company?

The State Government also want the ten percent shares of kogi state from the company since it started, and it also wants the company to perform it’s social responsibilities to the people.

    Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed (PhD) Biography

Prior to joining the 7th National Assembly, Datti served as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the residents of Kaduna State’s Zaria Federal Constituency.

    Childhood and Education

Yusuf Datti, was born on July 7, 1969, into the famed Baba-Ahmed family of Zaria. He spent the majority of his formative years acquiring the necessary abilities, know-how, and credentials, including a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in Borno State, Nigeria.

After completing his first studies, he moved to Ogun State where he worked at the University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for his national service year.

His next job was as a banking officer at the First Bank of Nigeria Plc from 1997 to 1998. In July 1999, he returned to Baze Research and Data Services as its managing director. Before entering politics, he oversaw the strategic direction and expansion of the company for the following three years.

    Public Service

Given his outstanding private sector career and excellent educational background, Yusuf Datti was chosen to represent the people of Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State in the 5th National Assembly at the young age of 34.

He was sworn in on May 29, 2003, and during his four years of service, he worked mostly to highlight the situation of his people. He also helped propose and implement policies and regulations, many of which the nation is still reaping the benefits of today.

Datti ran for and won the Kaduna North senatorial seat in 2011, but he was unable to complete his four-year term because the election was contested in court and his victory was invalidated.

    His Technocrat Legacy

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has consistently demonstrated a distinct curiosity about the humanity, rivaled only by his commitment to put policies into place that are beneficial to Nigeria and Nigerians.

His career has been guided by his conviction that Nigeria needs competent leaders who are aware of where the world is going and have the knowledge and abilities to position themselves for that future.

He has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Westminster, London, after finishing his Master of Science in Economics degree in 1995.

Also, he has received executive management and strategic leadership training at various levels from the London Business School, the London School of Practical Economics, and the Harvard Business School in Boston.

Datti has since chosen a keen interest in managing national and international security, stepping outside of his background in economics and management, to receive training on national and international security from the Harvard Kennedy School, Boston, Massachusetts. This is due to the dire state of the country.

He has frequently offered several doable solutions for addressing Nigeria’s security issues and its corruption issue, which has been a major factor in the quickly spreading terrorism throughout regions.

Currently, Sen. Yusuf Datti serves as the provost of Baze University, managing director and chairman of Baze Construction Ltd., and chairman of Baze Research & Data Service Ltd., all of which employ over 1000 Nigerians both at home and abroad.

    Dino Melaye Biography

    Philanthropic Works

Through his philanthropy, Sen. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has continued to play a crucial role in raising the living conditions of both his local community and the greater Nigerian population outside of politics.

He established two junior secondary schools with a combined enrollment of 4,000 students and donated them as an educationist. Over 6,000 students have graduated from the institution since it opened, and many of them have gone on to earn advanced degrees and in-demand professional skills in their local regions.

He founded the independent Baze University in Abuja, Nigeria in 2011 with the primary goal of raising the educational standard of Nigerian students after comparing the quality of his studies abroad with that of the Nigerian school system and describing it as “appalling.”

Beyond education, he has also made investments in the vital health sector of the nation, constructing the largest hospital of its kind in Nigeria with 200 beds, cutting-edge medical equipment, and a total floor area of almost 14,000 square meters.

This facility employs a unique approach to close the gaps in the Nigerian healthcare system by producing skilled healthcare workers who can help reduce the need for medical travel by offering comprehensive medical services to members of the public while providing high-quality medical education to its students.

    Labour Party Journey

Sen. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is returning to active politics after making significant contributions to the public and commercial sectors, notably as an outspoken opponent of excessive government spending and pervasive corruption.

He presently belongs to the Labour Party of Nigeria and will run alongside His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi for vice president in the general elections in 2023.

The two have received a lot of genuine support from Nigerians of all ages, many of whom have faith in their moral integrity and ability to turn the nation around.

Kogi State House Of Assembly have Demanded for Kogi’s Shares of Dangote Cement Company.

The legislators have given Dangote Cement Company a week ultimatum to respond with necessary documents.

Kogi State House of Assembly has asked for the ten percent shares that belongs to the State Government from the representatives of Dangote Cement company Obajana, stressing that all available documents shows that the company started as Obajana Cement Company and at what point did it turn to Dangote Cement company without any considerations.

To make the claim possible, Kogi State House of Assembly ordered the management of Dangote cement company to provide all necessary documents that have to do with the transfer of Obajana Cement Company owned by Kogi State Government to Dangote Cement Company.

The House also directed that the documents signed at the establishment of the Company and relevant receipts of dues it claimed to have paid to Kogi State Government available at the next adjourned sitting date.

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Matthew Kolawole gave this order after an interim reports of the ongoing investigative hearing on Internally Generated Revenue which was submitted by the adhoc committee led by Hon. Isah Tenimu and deliberated upon during yesterday plenary session on the floor of the House.

He said this has become imperative in view of the claims and counter claims between the Chairman of Kogi State Internally Generated Revenue Service (KGIRS) and Representatives of Dangote cement company.

List of Mineral resources in Kogi state

The adhoc committee that is investigating the operation of mining companies in the state said at inception that the company was owned by Kogi State and wanted to know how it suddenly transisted from Obajana Cement Company to Dangote Cement Company.

The Speaker also directed that the Financial Director of Dangote Cement Company should meet with KGIGRS and the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry to reconcile financial differences.

Earlier during the investigative hearing, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry had pointed out that Dangote had not been paying business premises fees since operation in the state.

Responding, the representative of Dangote, Alhaji Jimoh claimed that on the contrary Kogi State had 10 per cent share which could only be claimed if the state showed interest, adding that since no interest was shown, the shares has been acquired when Dangote became a conglomerate.

While the Financial Director of Dangote, Segun Oyebanjo claimed that since 2016, the company has paid in total dues the sum of #14 billion to the coffers of Kogi State Government through KGIRS with receipts, Chairman of KGIRS said it was not so, adding that the receipts being bandied are not from them.

Also Oyebanjo said it was only in 2021 that some certain taxes have not been paid.

The adhoc committee will continue the investigative hearing on Tuesday 4th October, 2022 to attend to other companies operating in the state.
