Armed Robbery Attack On Three Egbe Banks In Kogi State

The people of Egbe, in Yagba West Local Government area of Kogi state was thrown into a state of confusion after the armed robbery attack On three banks simultaneously on Tuesday, 14th December, 2021.

The gang overpowered the police officers, using sophisticated weapons, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.

The armed robbery attack which lasted for more than two hours on Tuesday afternoon affected three Nigerian commercial banks, Access Bank Egbe, First bank Egbe, and UBA Ode Ere branch in Kogi State.

The armed men were said to have shared themselves into four groups, thereby carrying out the three operation at the same time.

“They came prepared”, an eyewitness said.

In a bid to bring the culprits to justice, security operatives in the state have swung into action. Law enforcement has increased patrols and increased vehicular and personal checks as a result of the incident.

Law enforcement is seeking the cooperation of the public through vigilance and by informing them of any suspicious behavior.

Another eyewitness account;

“They came in numbers destroyed both Odo Ere and Egbe police stations, successfully robbed UBA, Access and First banks, killed so many innocent people. God this is too much for us o.”
