Kogi Government Gives Illegal Miners 48hrs to Stop or Face The Law
Kogi state Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources earlier issued a statement of the Governor stopping illegal miners in the state.
The Commissioner of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Chief Dr Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu visited various mining sites in Kogi where he made sure illegal miners stop work.
He gave them 48 hours to leave the various site or face the law.
Meanwhile, the genuine miners who use crude method have been asked to make use of mordern technology because the former is causing lost of lives and injury.
The sites where this illegal activities are taken place are mostly coal sites.
The team inspected Imane district of Olamaboro LGA where two lives were lost because of not adhering to the state Government directive on illegal mining and crude way of exploitation.
It’s the responsibility of the state Government to provide an enabling environment for investor and to make sure lives and property are been protected.
Illegal miners in Kogi state are advised to stop their activities before the law takes it course.
